I am Harry???
Oh well ... here's a meaningless little diversion in the meantime. I ran across one of those online quiz thingies. Here's the results of mine. I'd like to think the results have some validity ... but, of course, they don't. I will, however, cling to the conviction that I'm more like the "good guys" than the "bad guys" in J.K. Rowling's world.
You scored as Harry Potter, You can be a little reckless and hot-headed at times, but a more brave and courageous friend would be hard to find.

Off topic, from a native Missourian to a newbie.
Where do you live? The Midwest is as conservative as the people you meet. I met all of the ten liberals in South Dakota, for example, and now am a liberal. BUT, as a Missourian (back in 1984), I was so conservative... My mom is from the Soulard area of St. Louis.
I grew up in Sedalia and went to college in Warrensburg and Kansas City.
There's a great review of the last HP book at Metacatholic's blog, which I linked in my last post for July 29 on my blog. I bet you'd enjoy it, since you've finished the book.
Wow! It's a small world, Lauralew. I'm about an hour east of Sedalia. (You'll probably know what that means, but please don't tell everybody.)
There's much wisdom in what you wrote. When I first got here (back in '98), I was seriously dismayed at how conservative this place is. But I am finding my niche ... thanks mostly to my Episcopal parish.
Friends, don't follow the link that Jan provided unless you're ready for some spoilers.
Yes, though, that's a thoughtful review. Thanks for it, Jan.
I think, though, that I'm just going to have to process it for myself. I was affected more than I expected to be.
You, hot-headed and reckless? Nawwww.
I have finished it! [barely perceptible jumping up and down noted].
Let me know when you find a venue and I will clammer aboard.

Aw shucks, Catherine. You think I'm hot-headed and reckless? Whatever gave you that notion? And thank you most deeply!
I scored equally high as Lupin (one of my favorite characters) and Dumbledore. And almost as high as Harry...
I scored 90 percent Harry and 90 percent Snape. -- Not sure about that.
Thanks for your hilarious, and may I just say spot-on, commentary on poor dear smitten Greg. -- Surly there's a rehab for him.
Gosh, Catherine! Do you really think I'm hot-headed and reckless? Do you have any evidence for such a wild assertion? heh-heh-heh
Flattery like this could get you anywhere!

Ah, David ... those are two of my favorite characters. I wish I were more like Dumbledore!
Hey, Rowan the Dog! Thanks for dropping in. ... Equally Harry & Snape? Wow! -- you must be one very complex puppy!

Well, actually that was my guardian. But, I am unusually complex too, as well as intelligent and handsome. I am a pretty swell dog, that's for sure. Thanks for noticing.
Love,
Rowan
PS - I am a grown up dog now, not a puppy.
