How to Prepare a Sermon
But I am afraid this has been a recurring problem as I've begun actively trying to write ye olde sermon.
Thank you, Dave Walker. You always seem to know just what to draw.

Remember what HRH Princes Margaret said to the ABC when he called her in to tell her she could not marry that divorced man (how times have changed)?
He apologized for the state of his messy desk and the dozen or so open books on his desk. He said he was preparing a sermon.
HRH replied, "And pinching a lot from other people too, I see.'
Books or internet - both are orthodox Anglicanism. :)
Should I cue the theme from "2001: A Space Odyssey?"
LOL, James. I never heard that one. But it's marvelous.
My process: I read the lessons, then I have been praying and dwelling with the lessons.
[Oops! Fixed typo there. Thank God I caught it, for I had typed "lesions" rather than lessons. Freudian, much? :) ]
Then I read the relevant commentaries in the New Interpreter's Bible.
So I don't think I'll be pinching much.
Thanks for the chuckle, Maria. I merely have the Anglican Top 40 playing on the stereo -- praying that the great works of our hymnody will inspire me. Or maybe they'll just remind me I'm a pedestrian worm. Who knows?
