Evening Prayer
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen

Thanks, Lisa. This is a particular favorite of mine since I have worked many, many nights with dying people and their weeping families. I love the idea of God keeping watch over all of us.
My most favorite prayer in the BCP....
Amen. Mine too.
Thinking of and praying for you.
Thank you, Margaret. It's going to be ok. Several of us are going to have a memorial service Friday evening on Facebook. I am looking forward to that as a gathering of the community. I need that.
that seems very fitting. good. I shall pray for you all.
Yes. Lee devoted a lot of energy to his friends in the blogosphere. It seems right that some of us will hold his memorial service online.
Prayers also for those who will attend his physical memorial serice Friday at 1p (CDT).
I also like to think that the "Guide us waking, O Lord, and guard us sleeping" prayer is the Cliff's note version of this prayer. The two seem to go hand in hand.
No argument here, Kirk.
Hmmm ... do a couple of ol' broads in Mo. have insomnia tonight? ;-)
