McCain and Palin

"Getting to Know You"

Here's an edited video from the event in which John McCain introduced his chosen vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

Watch McCain's eyes. I ask you: What's he watching?

If that embedded video doesn't work, go here.

Let me say this: I was not a fan of McCain or Obama. I supported Senator Clinton. I would have loved to see a woman at the top of the ticket. But McCain -- who ditched his wife after she had a disfiguring accident -- has a track record of picking beauty-pageant women. I just wonder which organ he's using for his decision-making.

It is all so ugly and so devious and it scares me.

I did not support Obama or Clinton with vigor- I liked John Edwards and then felt ambivalence.

Today I am supporting Obama with seriousness so that we can hopefully restore some good to this land.

In any event, it is not that Palin is a woman, it is that she is uniquely unqualified, anti LGBT, anti-choice, anti-environment and so on.

And McCain is a loose cannon at best. If he were to not be able to serve, we would have her.

God.
Have.
Mercy.

I worry when people who are apocalyptically inclined have their finger so close to the button.

My friend Karen tried to post the following, but lost her wrestling match with Blogger, so I proudly post it on her behalf. She writes:

And that's not all!

Thanks, Karen. Librarians rock!

Palin wasn't tracking her speech. That is what he was looking at.

McCain looks like he is ready to have a meltdown. Now he probably IS having a meltdown, given recent polls.

Now, i have been about the LAST person to support Obama. I was a Kucinich supporter. Then went with Edwards... then Obama. I made no stop at Hillary: Too pro-corporate, woman or not.

There at least 100 things about Palin (and I am not kidding!) that worry me, not the least of which is her literalistic Biblical reading and how she interprets her faith into public policy. She is anti-birth control--BTW.

Palin is a step backwards from Bush.

Yeah, I know. Hard to believe.

BUT IT IS TRUE.

And if he's just checking her speech, he's a control freak, which might be worse in a position of power.

Oh yeah, he wants to do her.

Palin's church is sponsoring some kind of a pray away the gay thing... Love Wins Out or some such animal.

James Dobson has now changed his mind about McCain. Says that with Palin on the ticket he'll vote for him.

Palin is scary... scarier than McCain, even scarier that W. Really. She's a nutter. Well, more of one.
