Actress

Having just watched Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican Convention, I must say I am impressed at this woman's acting skills. We expected that. She was brilliant in reading the script that was prepared for her. Her family was deft in waving the little infant around.

She went after Obama like a pit bull. She lied about some of her background. Now ... let's see how (or whether ... or when) she has the nerve to accept actual interviews with real journalists. Let's see whether she can defend her own dubious public record.

precisely. she is going to have a helluva time given she has NO knowledge on anything. they will probably just give her some one line talking points, coach and rehearse a lot, and never let her around press without someone nearby.

scary time, really.

Agreed, Cany. Most of the media are observing that (now six days after her selection) she STILL has not sat down with any journalist for a real interview. Exactly what is the GOP afraid of?

For starters, I think thr GOP is afraid of a no-nothing having to defend the last 8 years of GOP destruction. It strikes me as odd while they claim to be republicans and claim the last 8 years as good years they run on a platform of complete change. Yes, it will be interesting to see how they handle interviews and more interesting how they handle debates.

It's interesting, I actually have some on-line friends that live in Wasilla, AK and I asked them about Sarah. First thing I got back was the shock about the celebrity status that this small town just north of Anchorage has gone through. Poor Heather says that she can't get to the grocery store lately without someone wanting her opinion on Sarah. The overall comments coming back are that she's a really nice lady, she's down-to-earth and does think about her constiuents, however they are concerned that shes jumping from the frying pan into a bonfire that she may feel ready for, but her family will hate. Her husband, a local boy has already stated to friends in Wasilla that Juneau is too confining for him...They can't imagine what he will do in Washington, if he even makes the move at all. The younger kids are more adaptable, but the teens, well that could be a problem too. It may just be "Mrs. Smith" going to Washington. Wasilla locals can't imagine any of them will be happy there for long.

The McCain/Palin campaign will do what it can to avoid and to demonize the press. She already started that last night.

Watch them - this will appeal to the people who feel afraid, who think that many of us are self-absorbed intellectual elitists who want to take away what they have earned.

This is a class war.

It is going to get ugly.

She has some legs at the moment, and we cannot forget that.

The GOP is not afraid Lisa- at least I don't think so. They just want to position the press as a bunch of lefty liberals who want to tear down America.

Ugh.
